Lucena grew up in a remote village in the Philippines, where there was no electricity or running water. She understands what it’s like to have nothing and how perseverance and faith can lead to a better life. Her childhood taught her the true meaning of perseverance — and, above all, kindness. In a village without electricity, running water, or regular access to food, Lucena’s family relied on strength, resilience, and unity to survive.

Her father worked as both a fisherman and a farmer, while her mother balanced the duties of a housewife and a hardworking farmer. Together, they raised eight children with unwavering love and determination.

Since childhood, Lucena dreamed of immigrating to the United States to build a better life. When that dream became reality, she found not only opportunity but also a loving family to share it with.

Through years of hard work and sacrifice, she balanced family, education, and career with a heart full of purpose.

Lucena was the first among her siblings to graduate from high school and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. A milestone achieved through hard work, discipline, and an unbreakable spirit.

Her professional life has centered around serving others, whether assisting customers, patients, guests, or community members. Lucena has always found purpose in helping people, but deep down, she knew she was called to do more.

That’s why she made the bold decision to run for Congress to amplify the voices of everyday Americans, give back to the country that gave her a chance, and fight for those who need someone to stand up for them.
